Dr Brigid Mooney

Brigid B. Mooney, DDS

Dr. Brigid Mooney is the proud owner and lead dentist at Clarendon Family Dentistry. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2011 and has been practicing dentistry in Northern Virginia since. In 2021, she joined Clarendon Family Dentistry, and in 2022, she became the practice owner.

Growing up in Texas with a father who was a doctor, Dr. Mooney developed a strong desire to help people from an early age. She originally considered becoming a pediatrician but discovered that dentistry allowed her to combine her love for patient care with creativity. Dentistry has been the perfect blend for her, offering the opportunity to use her hands and artistic side to fix and enhance smiles while incorporating a medical background.

Dr. Mooney’s favorite part of her work is improving her patients' smiles and overall oral health. She takes great pride in working alongside a dedicated team whose top priority is patient care, and she loves collaborating with them to exceed patients' expectations.

Outside the dental office, Dr. Mooney enjoys spending time with her husband, Brandon, and their three young sons. Whether traveling, gardening, hiking, or volunteering in their community, her family loves being outdoors. One of their more unique family hobbies is beekeeping, and Dr. Mooney is the official honey harvester, proudly providing fresh honey for the family to enjoy.

Dr. Mooney is also active in professional organizations, including the Northern Virginia Dental Society, and looks forward to becoming more involved again as her children grow older.

Sydney, Registered Dental Hygienist

Sydney

Registered Dental Hygienist

Sydney has been a cornerstone of Clarendon Family Dentistry for over 30 years, beginning her dental career in 1993 and joining the practice in 1995. Educated at Northern Virginia Community College, Sydney is passionate about caring for patients' oral health and believes in the power of education. She checks teeth and teaches patients how oral health impacts their entire body.

A long-standing interest in healthcare drove Sydney's journey into the dental field. Her favorite part of her job is the sense of family within the practice. She loves seeing multiple generations of patients and families who have been coming to the practice for years. For Sydney, Clarendon Family Dentistry isn't just a workplace; it's a community where everyone feels connected and valued.

Outside work, Sydney enjoys exploring new restaurants and taking walks with her dog.

Taylor

Taylor

Taylor is a registered dental hygienist at Clarendon Family Dentistry who brings genuine warmth and clinical expertise to every patient interaction. Taylor earned an associate degree from Virginia Western Community College in Roanoke, Virginia, and went on to complete a post-licensure Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene at Old Dominion University. Taylor's services include routine cleanings, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, local anesthesia, sealant placements, and x-rays — always delivered with a focus on patient comfort and thorough education.

Taylor's path into dental hygiene began early with shadowing a dental office in 8th grade. That sparked a passion that never faded. With roots in Forest, Virginia, Taylor began practicing hygiene in 2023 before joining the Clarendon Family Dentistry team in 2026. What Taylor loves most about the work is connecting with patients across all walks of life, learning their stories, and being a consistent, caring presence in their long-term health. That same spirit of connection extends to the team, as Taylor thrives in Clarendon's collaborative, supportive environment where everyone looks out for one another.

Outside the office, you'll find Taylor cycling, traveling, or soaking up time at the beach. Taylor also sets an ambitious goal of reading 100 books a year and enjoys watercolor painting. Growing up on a farm with a large extended family, Taylor brings a grounded, community-minded spirit to everything, including patient care.

Ally

Ally

Ally joined the Clarendon Family Dentistry team in September 2025, bringing with her a genuine passion for patient care and a warm, welcoming presence. Following her mother's footsteps, she completed her dental assistant education at Des Moines Area Community College in 2025 and came into the field already with a background in healthcare.

As a dental assistant, Ally plays a hands-on role in making every visit a positive one. From greeting patients at the door to assisting with procedures, taking x-rays, and sharing oral hygiene tips, she is committed to helping patients feel at ease from the moment they arrive. Her favorite part of the job? Getting to know the people she cares for and making the dental chair a little less intimidating.

When she is not at the practice, Ally loves to bake and cook, and she and her fiancé enjoy hitting the golf course and spending time outdoors. Originally from Iowa, she recently made the move here and is enjoying settling in to Northern Virginia.
